The next time you stop by the Bloomsburg airport, take a minute to introduce yourself and welcome Doug Hayle, a new “old” employee at N13. Doug, a former Columbia Aircraft employee from the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, is a recent retiree with 21 years of service in the United States Air Force as a Flight Engineer on the C-5 Cargo plane and participated in Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and the Somalia Campaign. He returns to Columbia Aircraft as an A&P mechanic and office technician. Doug is a licensed private pilot and sees his opportunity at Columbia Aircraft as a means to satisfy his desire to continue working in the field of aviation. Welcome back, Doug!
Certainly no stranger to the operations at the Bloomsburg Airport, 35 year veteran, Karl George, becomes part owner of Columbia Aircraft Services as of December 31, 2008. Shirley Brobst, who has also spent 42 years with Columbia Aircraft is also a part owner, congratulations and best wishes for continued success for years to come, Karl and Shirley.
